GY611 SMM GYRO WITH S 9256 SERVO manufacturers description

Based on the proven GY 601 SMM Pro gyro, the GY 611 incorporates a further improvement in sensor sensitivity compared to its predecessor. A modified sensor element is now used in conjunction with an aluminium sensor housing; the net result is improved vibration absorption and higher sensor sensitivity.

The stabilising effect of the gyro has been further improved. The drift-free SMM sensor, in conjunction with the ultra-fast S 9251 servo, produces a tail rotor control system of incredibly high performance. The model´s tail rotor appears to be "nailed" to the sky, even in a strong wind. An ultra-fast digital signal processor controls the tail rotor servo with a pulse frequency of 330 Hz, and is able to correct deviations in the tail boom position before they visibly affect the model.

The GY 611 offers two basic settings:
  1. Smooth - for FAI flying
  2. Spectacular 3-D flying with pirouette speeds of more than 550° per second.
Additional features of the SMM gyro
  • AVCS sensitivity function = variable tail rotor control characteristics ("feeling and stopping")
  • Tail rotor servo delay variable separately in both directions: "there" and "back". In AVCS mode the neutral setting of the tail rotor can be called up, enabling the pilot to set "straight lift-off".
  • To protect the gyro from electro-static discharge the case is made of an anti-static material with a shielding effect.
  • Combination display shows set gyro gain value and battery voltage.
  • Note:
The GY-611 SMM gyro requires a servo with a neutral pulse width of 760 Is, such as the S 9251; for this reason it cannot be used with any other servo.
